AIRPORT TRAFFIC UP 2.4 PERCENT IN FEBRUARY

Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) increased 2.4 percent for February in comparison with the same month last year.* During the month, 56,684 passengers flew in or out of the county-operated airport, compared to 55,338 passengers last February.

For the 12 months ending Feb. 28, total passenger traffic at DAB increased 1.8 percent with 709,029 passengers traveling through the facility last year compared to 721,831 passengers this year.

“February was another positive month for growth, caused by three factors: load factor increases; capacity growth in the market; and minimal weather impacts in the northeast, with only one reported weather related cancellation,” said Airport Director Rick Karl.

Karl added: “Passenger traffic is up nearly 70 percent since 2009, and we’re at our highest point in over 21 years. With airlines offering more capacity and the community filling those seats, we believe 2018 traffic numbers will continue this positive trend as we head into the spring and summer.”
