Silver Airways to suspend service

Silver Airways has announced it will suspend service between Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale July 1.

In an official statement, the airline said that while the service was well-received by travelers and the community and bookings were good, the flights are not operating at a fare level that is financially sustainable to continue in current market conditions.

"Obviously, we are disappointed with Silver’s decision to suspend service,” said Airport Director Rick Karl. “Airport staff worked diligently to recruit Silver Airways and promote the service to the community. While this loss of service is unfortunate, we recognize the support from residents and visitors, and look forward to new opportunities ahead.”

Silver Airways began non-stop flight service between DAB and FLL and beyond on Jan. 17. They are currently working with customers who have booked flights beyond July 1 in order to re-accommodate or provide full refunds.
